Hiking package
Combine well-being and relaxation with a quiet hike in magical primeval forest along the pilgrimage trail to Västerlanda Church. You can also connect to the Göta Älv Pilgrim Trail in Lilla Edet. Pilgrim Trail Stage 7 and Stage 8, Lilla Edet.
The pilgrim trail that leaves from here starts at Sankt Olof's spring, 2,4 km from the castle, and extends down to Västerlanda church – 12 or 16 km – where we arrange pick-up. We also have our own shorter trails of 2, 4, 6 or 7,5 km. The cultural environment around Thorskog was designated as one of Västra Götaland's cultural heritage sites in 2019 and borders the Svartedalen nature conservation area.

Walk at your own pace
You leave your luggage at the castle and receive a map of the hiking trails, or you choose to arrive at the castle at 15.00:XNUMX PM to hike the next day.

Hiking with a dog
At Thorskogs Slott, dogs are warmly welcome – except inside the castle building itself. We have large green areas and plenty of space in the castle park for playing and walking, as well as five private trails of 1 km, 2 km, 4 km, 6 km and 7,5 km. directly adjacent to the castle.
Along the way you will pass waterfalls, Stendammen and Spikdammen – where both you and your dog can take a refreshing dip.
We offer special rooms adapted for those traveling with dogs. Let us know when booking and we will be happy to help you further. For the dog's accommodation there is an additional 500 SEK - then we prepare the room with bowls, a small welcome note and what is needed for a pleasant stay for both two- and four-legged guests.
